Sindh’s Chief Minister, Syed Murad Ali Shah, holds a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from NED University of Engineering and Technology and a Master’s degree in Engineering Economic Systems from Stanford University, USA.
Before entering active politics, he worked as a professional engineer and investment banker. He began his political journey with the Pakistan Peoples Party and was first elected to the Sindh Assembly in 2002. He was re-elected in 2008 and since then has held several key ministerial portfolios, including Irrigation, Finance, and Planning & Development, showcasing his versatility in governance.
He has been elected as Leader of the House/ Chief Minister Sindh three times in February 2024, August 2018 and July 2016.
